Bargaining Update: May 19, 2025

The AFSCME Maryland Bargaining Team (made up of members from AFSCME Local 44, 558, and 2202) met with the City of Baltimore on Monday, May 19 at the union office in Baltimore.
The City gave our team some, but not all, of the updated numbers on their wage scale proposal. The City stated they would like to see these new numbers phased in over the term of the contract. The AFSCME team requested more information about how bargaining unit employees would progress on the newly proposed wage scale from year to year. The AFSCME team plans to give the City a counterproposal on wages.
We also again asked the City a series of questions about the budget and what upcoming staffing levels will look like. They failed to answer. Our next meeting is on Thursday, May 29 at the Department of Human Resources offices on Redwood Street.
